12 Things to Ask Yourself Before You Preach

12 Preaching Preparation Questions:

  1. Have I spoken to God regularly and honestly this week?
  2. Have I spoken lovingly to my spouse and children?
  3. Have my words been truthful?
  4. Have I said anything inappropriate or off-color?
  5. Have I spoken the biblical text aloud during preparation?
  6. Have I tried to impress anyone with my words?
  7. Have I spoken poorly of anyone?
  8. Have I had gospel conversations with non-believers?
  9. Do I need to ask forgiveness from anyone?
  10. Do I need to confess any sin today?
  11. Have I asked others to pray for my preaching?
  12. Have I thanked God for the privilege of preaching His Word?
